As students begin to read it is important to introduce and use sight words. Presenting sight words in a variety of ways will help meet the needs of a diverse class of learners.

My kids think this Sight-Word Talking Board is great fun. In this center, they push the word, listen to it and then write it.

My kids think this Sight-Word Talking Board is great fun. In this center, they push the word, listen to it and then write it.

Sight word flashcards for school and home can provide a means for quickly reviewing the words on a daily basis. Singing sight word songs will help embed the words (and the spellings) into your students' minds. Using words in sentences and books makes the words more meaningful. Research has shown that tracing and/or writing the sight words helps students remember the words. Last, but not least, sight word games and/or activities provide the guided and independent practice your students need.

We offer a large variety of sight word games that are colorful and fun for students to play.

While playing this game, students take on the roles of gardner and rabbit, reading sight words as they race around the garden. Will the rabbit reach the exit before the gardner catches him?

Games such as this one are included in all of our thematic units or in sight word specific products such as the ones featured below. Or at our TPT Store.
